What’s the difference between Gelato & Ice Cream?
Gelato is served slightly warmer, has richer flavours, a creamier texture and more intense flavour because it has less air & fat than ice cream.
Do you have vegan or dairy-free options?
Yes! We’ll always have plenty of vegan and dairy-free options. On occasion more than half of the flavours in our dipping cabinet have been dairy-free. We thoroughly clean our production line between dairy-based and dairy-free flavours and make the following specific efforts to avoid cross contamination.
1. Vegan options are placed in their own section.
2. We use seperate or fresh scoops for every flavour.
3. Vegan flavours are scooped first in split-flavour cups and cones.
Is Gelato gluten-free?
Most gelato and sorbetto are gluten-free. Certain flavours may contain gluten, like our frequently featured hazelnut chocolate combination: gianduja.
Are your cones really gluten-free?
Yes, our cones are gluten-free.
Can I bring my dog to More Gelato?
We love dogs, and we’re happy to have them on our patio. Otherwise, we comply with the provincial laws and ask that unless the dog is a legally trained service animal, they refrain from joining you inside while you order. Thanks.
How often do you change your flavours?
We’ve only been open a few months, and we’ve already lost count of all the different flavours we’ve offered. There’s no exact schedule when you can expect new ones, but you can trust that everyone’s favourites like Lemon, Vanilla & some kind of chocolate will stick around indefinitely.
Is MORE Gelato peanut or nut-free?
Some of our most popular flavours are nut-based, like Hazelnut CRUNCH. We (so far) haven’t had any peanuts or peanut-based products in our kitchen. While we’re confident that anyone with a mild nut allergy would be safe to enjoy our nut-free products, we’d caution anyone with an extreme nut allergy.
Why is it called “MORE Gelato”?
We’re both people who want more out of life and to give more to our community, too. When trying to come up with a name, Zaira remarked that when her grandfather, Albert, was enjoying something delicious and asked what he thought, he would often reply, “It tastes like more!”. So while we’re already celebrating Zaira’s paternal heritage with Italian Gelato, we’ve also lovingly embraced a playful nod to her maternal Irish heritage.
Are you going to have “this” or “that” flavour?
Probably at some point. If you’d like to suggest a flavour or ask any other questions, you can submit them to us at enjoy@moregelato.ca
